Why Covenantal Groups?

So people can covenant together to do theological reflection to nurture their faith, and support one another in inte­grating one’s beliefs with one’s life in the world. These groups are specifically designed to create renewal, support change, and to learn more effective ways of living in the present moment.

Purpose of Covenantal Groups

To live into a ministry characterized by reverence and companionship without analysis and problem solving.

  • Groups for Clergy—Ordained clergy in pastoral, administrative, educational, or hospital setting

Group Facilitator

Sharon Otto Trekell, Ph.D., the Director of Inner Well Institute, has been a spiritual director for clergy and laity since 1988. She took her training in spiritual direc­tion at the Shalem Institute of Spiri­tual Formation in Bethesda, Mary­land.

Sharon is also a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a Certified Exercise Specialist, and a Certi­fied Tai Chi Easy Instructor. She believes a person’s health is more than just mind, body and spirit; thus, she developed her six dimen­sional paradigm, Core Personal Resilience (CPR), to empower her clients to create increased re­silience and well-being in their daily living.
